Interviews on Campus

A personal interview is strongly encouraged and is available to any student who plans to enroll the following Fall as either a first-year or transfer. On campus interviews are available throughout the year from the third week of May until early December.

While off-campus interviews are still available for transfer applicants, on-campus interviews are no longer available for students plannning to enter Bowdoin in Fall 2012.

  • Schedule an interview on campus with the Bowdoin Admissions Office. The interview schedule offers only what is presently available.
If you are scheduling online an on-campus interview in addition to a tour and/or group information session, you only need to register for the interview.
  • To reschedule and/or cancel an interview, please call the Bowdoin Admissions Office at (207) 725-3100.

Who will interview you on campus?

An admissions staff member or a Bowdoin senior carefully selected and trained for this purpose.

Interviews off Campus
If you can't make it to campus, we encourage you to interview with a member of the Bowdoin Alumni Schools and Interviewing Committee (BASIC) closer to home. There are BASIC volunteers in most areas of the United States and a number of foreign countries. Alumni interviews may be requested from September 1 through early December by completing the online request form. Once we receive your request, an alum will contact you to set up an interview. Please note that in certain geographic areas, there are a limited number of alumni interviews available. Candidates are encouraged to schedule an interview as early as possible. Alumni interviews are weighted equally with on campus interviews and are available only to students who do not interview on campus.

Why interview?

In addition to providing Bowdoin with a better sense of you -- your strengths, passions, and abilities -- interviews are a chance for you to ask specific questions about the College that are not addressed in other materials. We hope that you'll learn as much about us as we do about you.
