Interviews on Campus

A personal interview is strongly encouraged and is available to any student who plans to enter Bowdoin in Fall 2012 as either a first-year or transfer. On campus interviews are available throughout the year from the third week of May until early December. The interview schedule is now available through October 31, 2011.

  • Schedule an interview on campus with the Bowdoin Admissions Office. The interview schedule offers only what is presently available.
If you are scheduling online an on-campus interview in addition to a tour and/or group information session, you only need to register for the interview.
  • To reschedule and/or cancel an interview, please call the Bowdoin Admissions Office at (207) 725-3100.

Who will interview you on campus?

An admissions staff member or a Bowdoin senior, one of fourteen seniors carefully selected and trained for this purpose.

Interviews off Campus

If you can't make it to campus, we encourage you to interview with a member of the Bowdoin Alumni Schools and Interviewing Committee (BASIC) closer to home. There are BASIC volunteers in most areas of the United States and a number of foreign countries. Alumni interviews may be requested from September 1, 2011 through 5:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time) on December 9, 2011 by completing the online request form. Once we receive your request, an alum will contact you to set up an interview. Please note that in certain geographic areas, there are a limited number of alumni interviews available. Candidates are encouraged to schedule an interview as early as possible. Alumni interviews are weighted equally with on campus interviews and are available only to students who do not interview on campus.

Interviews are a smart idea

You can get answers to your questions about Bowdoin not addressed in other materials. You can show the interviewer who you really are; that is, the real person behind the application. It's a win-win situation. You benefit. Bowdoin benefits.
