Street Lighting Improvement Program

The Southern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (SSROC) established and oversees the Street Lighting Improvement Program. This program involves the implementation and recommendations of an extensive review of street lighting that was undertaken in 2002. 29 councils are currently participating in the Program ranging from southern Sydney through to the Central Coast and Hunter. The street lights in the participating councils' jurisdictions constitute over 85% of EnergyAustralia's street lights. You can find out more about the program on SSROC Web site under 'Street Lighting'.

Safer Streets

TickStreet lighting is an important factor when considering personal and property safety. A well lit area deters theft and improves the chances of seeing something suspicious if it is happening.

We give it our tick of approval as this contributes to making our community a safer and happier one.
