David here turned 18 in December of 1970, when it was still fairly easy to find your short life ending rapidly in a stinking hellhole 8,700 miles southwest of Missouri. But apparently somebody knew somebody who could get David a nice safe berth in the Guard. His uncle Stephen Limbaugh Jr., the judge, perhaps?
