Thank you for stopping by the Clerk of Courts' web site. I feel that part of my mandate, as the elected Clerk, is to investigate ways to make this office more accountable and open to the public. NEED TO KNOW WHERE TO GO?

Here's a guide to follow on your visit to any of the Franklin County Clerk of Courts' downtown offices.

Our divisions are located in several buildings throughout the county government center. We hope the following will easily guide you to your destination:

For Domestic matters, located at 373 S. High Street, Fl. 4:
     If you enter through the revolving doors, after you pass through security, proceed up the stairs. Go to left side, lobby direction. Look for signs on gray marble columns that direct you to the 4th floor elevators.

For Juvenile matters, located at 373 S. High Street, Fl. 4:
     If you enter through revolving doors, after you pass through security, proceed up the stairs. Go to left side, lobby direction. Look for signs on gray marble columns that direct you to the 4th floor elevators.

For Appeals in Common Pleas, located at 373 S. High Street, Fl. 23:
     If you enter through revolving doors, after you pass through security, proceed up the stairs. Go to the left side, lobby direction. Look for signs on gray marble columns that direct you to the 23rd floor elevators.

For Juvenile Traffic matters, located at 399 S. Front St., Fl. 1:
     Best to access Front street entrance. If you enter from other points, you can ask a courthouse guard to direct you.

For General Division CIVIL or CRIMINAL filings located at 345 S. High St., Fl. 1 B:
  • If you enter through 345 S. High Street doors, continue through security, turn right and cross the hallway into the General Division lobby.
  • If you enter through 373 S. High Street revolving doors, proceed through security, and go up stairs. At top of stairs turn right and walk toward glass pavilion area. You may take the elevators (to the right of the security guards' screening area) Select lower level (Tunnel).
    Continue through tunnel to end. On left side, behind the dark gray wall are elevators. Select 1st floor. Cross hallway to General Division lobby.
    Or, at the end of tunnel, you may walk up cream marble steps to first level. Cross hallway to General Division lobby.
  • If you first enter 365 S. High Street, Franklin County Government Center (the glass pavilion area), choose one of the previously noted options explained in this section.

If you have any questions, ask a courthouse guard for assistance, or stop at the Information Desk on the first level of the glass pavilion area 365 S. High Street, Franklin County Government Center.

Administrative offices are located on Fl. 23 of 373 S. High Street.

2011 Legal Holidays

The Franklin County Clerk of Courts functions include: receiving, receipting, managing and retaining all legal documents filed through the Court of Common Pleas; processing vehicular titles; processing U.S. Passport applications and photos; and, recording notaries public's commissions. Staff's goal is to be timely, accurate, and courteous in daily transactions. More than 230 employees are document experts and professional in performing these tasks.
