Presently, Azerbaijan gets 10-11 million cubic meters of casing-head gas extracted within development project of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block of fields (BP operator), a source in Azerbaijani oil industry said on April 30. Azerbaijan got over 1 billion cubic meters of gas from Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields during the first quarter. This gas is supplied free of charge.Presently, roughly 27 million cubic meters of casing-head gas is extracted at fields daily. Roughly 14-15 million cubic meters is pumped in layer; 10-11 million cubic meters is pumped in national gas transportation system of Azerbaijan. But the rest part is used as fuel at platforms.BP intends to provide Azerbaijani gas transportation system with 1.4 billion cubic meters of gas during 2009. But Azerbaijan would like to increase this index to 3 billion cubic meters. The company gets casing-head gas from platforms situated in central, western and eastern parts of Azeri field, supplies to Sangachal terminal via 28 inch underwater gas pipeline and to distributive system of Azerigaz CJSC to use on the local market.  Part of casing-head gas extracted at Chirag platform is directed to SOCAR's compressor station (the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) to Oil Stones field via 16 inch underwater gas pipeline. The rest volumes of casing-head gas from Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli platforms are pumped via intra field underwater gas pipelined to a platform for finishing gas pressing out and water pumping (for repeated pumping in a layer to support layer pressure).
