Establishment:-
       Chintamanrao College Of Commerce was inaugurated on 12th September 1960, at the auspicious hands of Dr. Sarwapalli Radhakrishnan, the then Vice-President of India. This was the glorious day of 71st birthday of the Late Padmabhushan His Highness Raja Chintamanrao Patwardhan, in whose name this college was founded.
About College:-
       The college bears the name of His Highness Chintamanrao Appasaheb Patwardhan, Rajesaheb of Sangli. It was during 1958, that the idea germinated in the minds of some progressive and renowned citizens in Sangli, like Shri B.A.Dafftardar, Shri D.V.Chaphalkar, Shri R.V.Desai, Shri Kantilal Shah & Shri. Rambhau Hardikar, that an educational institution could be set up in Sangli as a tribute to the name, fame and generosity of his Highness Chintamanrao Patwardhan on the occasion of his 71st birthday ceremony.
       Vishrambag situated on the outskirts of Sangli, had all ready started developing as a hub of educational institutions, with Deccan Education Society's Willingdon College set up way back in the year 1919 and Walchand College of Engineering, set up in 1947. A gap was identified for an institution rendering commerce education. Hence, it was decided to establish a commerce college to be run by Deccan Education Society Pune, having long standing reputation of about seven decades in the education filed, Rajesaheb of Sangli.
       The college was set up in June, 1960 and began it's functioning in Willingdon College building under the able leadership of then founder principal, Shri Devadatta Dabholkar. The formal inauguration of the college was made on 12th September 1960. At the auspicious hands of the then vice-president of India, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan. Since the inception of the college, the authorities had strived for excellence in education and are recognized as one of the premier institutes in commerce education in Shivaji University area.
       Felicitations committee was set up for celebrating 71st birthday of his highness Rajesaheb & the committee decided to establish a commerce college as and as a permanent memory of His Highness Chintamanrao Appasaheb Patwardhan. The committee collected the amount of Rs. 1 lakhs who felicitations on the occasion of Rajasaheb himself generously contributed a matching share of Rs.1 lakhs. The total amount of Rs. 2 lakhs was entrusted to Deccan Education Society happily agreed to name the college as Chintamanrao College of commerce, Sangli.
Hostel:- The Boy's hostel has 30 seats. For girl's students, some seats are reserved in Ladies Hostel of Willingdon College. Some seats are also reserved for backward class students. Information regarding room rent, arrangement for bath, charges for electricity etc. is available in the College Office on request.
