Ann Curry got more than she bargained for when she welcomed Nadya Suleman and nine of her 14 children to the Today show set this morning. They ran backstage, climbed over things, took over the anchor desk and ambled about on a large rug producers set up in the middle of the studio for the interview.
To be fair, one of the children was fine -- Suleman's 9-year-old daughter, who tried to help her mom and Curry keep the eight toddlers under control. At one point, the camera panned over to Today co-host Natalie Morales offstage, who was keeping one of the little boys entertained at the anchor desk. A few minutes later, Curry jumped up from her seat to catch another one of the boys before he toddled into danger backstage.
Throughout it all, Suleman offered explanations for her extreme lifestyle in her usual frantic, 100-miles-per-hour way of speed talking. "This is the behavior for two hours of sleep," she explained. When Curry suggested that all 2-year-olds are busybodies, Suleman plowed right over her observation, blurting out, "This is their first time traveling. At home – no, no, no, no – you wouldn't believe it. They sleep really well."

Also, soak in some classic Octomom quotes from the chat:
On earning income: "I'm in the process of earning my personal trainer's license, but again, that's peanuts compared to the total dollars amount I will need to support all the kids every month. I've never in my life been on (welfare) and I never will. I would feel like a failure, not only as a mother, but as a human being. That's my own bias. "
On the infamous In Touch Weekly interview: "I've never done an interview for them. I've never said any of that. We were contemplating suing because it's slander. I think they retract it. … I adore kids. I love my kids, I would die for my kids. "
On negative press about her: "I don't have internet. That's how I avoid it. I don't socialize. I keep to myself as much as humanly possible. I'd rather always be home with my little village than anywhere else. I haven't watched any TV in almost a decade. … I don't know what's going on."
On the octuplets' health: "We are so lucky and fortunate that there's nothing wrong. … They are also 80th percentile, by the way, in height and weight. These kids – science cannot explain them. They are extraordinarily healthy, athletic. They've been jumping out of their cribs since one years old. How do you explain that? My dad was an athlete; I'm an athlete. … This is not a normal situation; it's extraordinary."
