Inauguration of HFC's Centre in Sofia

"Greece-Bulgaria: Paths of Culture and Communication" is the title of the events organized in Sofia (November 17 & 18) by the Hellenic Foundation for Culture on the occasion of the official opening of the Foundation's Centre in Bulgaria. The Centre will be inaugurated by the Greek Minister of Culture, Mr. Michalis Liapis, in the presence of the President of the HFC, Professor G. Babiniotis, on 17/10.

The programme of events includes:

  • Concert by the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra with works by Vagellis Petsalis, Dimiter Christov, Carl Maria von Weber and P.I. Tchaikovsky. Conductor: Alkis Panagiotopoulos. Soloists: Panagiotis Giannakakis (piano), Dionysis Grammenos (clarinet) - holder of the 1st prize of the Eurovision competition for young musicians.
    November 17, Zala Bulgaria Hall, at 19:00 hrs

   

  • BRIDGES: Book Fair with translated works of literature in both languages (from Greek to Bulgarian and vice versa).
    November 18 - December 31, HFC's Centre 

  •  An evening of poetry and music. Poetry readings in the presence of Greek and Bulgarian authors. Participants: Titos Patrikios, Nasos Vagenas, Ivan Theofilov and Sylvia Tsoleva.
    Concert by Suzanne and Helen Vougiouklis with traditional and folk songs from Balkans.
