The liquid facelift: Beauty without the blade

Thinking of getting a facelift? Why not opt for a liquid facelift instead? A liquid facelift involves the lifting, plumping, filling, smoothing and/or re-contouring of the face through the use of injections. Different products and procedures are often used in conjunction with one other to give a cosmetically satisfying result that is sometimes not achieved with traditional surgical facelifts.

Fashionable drinks

The perfect drink can be your fixer. It helps you drift into that space of mysticism. However, indulging in morning tea is passé unless it is at Prêt-à-Portea in Berkley London. Tea, for example, is now infused with exotic flavors like Pear Caramel, Camomile Citron, Wild Blossom and Berries and Chocolate Mint Truffle, as new fashion contemporaries. The same goes for water—but we strictly mean Vitamin Water.

Nail Rage: The 'in vogue' art

It is easy; it is exciting. It is a façade of colorful art. It is an extension of your mood displayed on your fingernails. Nails and colors are synonymous; they work as complimentary artistic tools.

Spoiler Alert: Cavemen weren’t as hairy as the Captain Cavemen  creators, Hanna and Barbera, would like you to think. In fact, shaving hair from the face and head of men was a way of survival. It offered enemies in hand combat less to grasp onto and less territory for mites to inhabit.

Gucci Westman: A reluctant beauty icon

I met Gucci Westman early in the morning at a beautiful hotel in Dubai — a mere hours after she arrived in Dubai. My interview had been slotted in last minute as a result of pulling a few strings. In fact, Westman had only been told of it five minutes prior to my joining her at the breakfast table.

A cultural expo for a cause

When one speaks of elegant dresses that combine modesty and makes a woman look charming, traditional Pakistani attire such as the Shalwar Qameez, Shararas and Ghararas come to mind. For long, these dresses have not only kept their native wearers captivated by their beauty but have also attracted the attention of others. Of late, many Saudis love to theme some of their parties — more particularly henna parties — on such dresses. However, getting exclusive Pakistani designer wear in the Kingdom is not a piece of cake.

Azature: The Dark Side of Luxury

Sometimes it’s good to be bad. Especially when being bad is submitting to the temptation of the “Black Diamond King.” Forget the Prince of Darkness. Azature, the designer behind the eponymous line, is the new master of design seducing the fashion world to be sinfully indulgent.

Time for a little makeup

Gc introduces genius concept of smart luxury

All of us can recall the time when we were young, budding fashionistas flipping through the fashion magazines of the 1980s, admiring the iconic black-and-white images of GUESS’ ad campaign. These 1950’s stylized ads featured  sultry models, often unknowns, who then gained prominence through them — think Claudia Schiffer, Eva Herzigova and Laetitia Casta.  These models and their seductive Sex Kitten appeal made GUESS more than a household name; it made it an irresistible lifestyle — one that we all dreamed to be a part of.

Walking down the aisle in diamonds

It’s June, and we all know what that means: wedding season. While many may love the idea of all night dance-athons with relatives and friends, others find the constant planning and re-planning of summer travel plans to suit these momentous dates as nothing more than another inconvenient call to my already annoyed travel agent.
