engage Super League Attracts Strong Viewing in 2008

Analysis of the 2008 Super League audiences achieved over the opening 6 Rounds has highlighted a strong following amongst television viewers.

Live match coverage offered by Sky Sports has seen an average of 184,000 viewers watching per match, 49% more viewers than the average achieved by Rounds 10 – 18 in the Guinness Premiership, broadcast over the same period (January 4th – March 16th 2008).

Almost 230,000 viewers watched the live clash between Castleford Tigers and the Leeds Rhinos, the top engage Super League audience of 2008. In comparison, 196,600 viewers witnessed the top of the table clash between Bath and Gloucester on the 4th January, the highest average audience of the Guinness Premiership in 2008.

For the third year running Sports Marketing Surveys, the Surrey based sports market research company will provide the Rugby Football League (RFL) and engage Mutual Assurance with marketing data to evaluate their sponsorships.
