CN Group is an independent local media business based in Carlisle. The Group operates with three Divisions.
PUBLISHING
The Publishing Division publish daily and weekly newspapers in Cumbria, Northumberland and south west Scotland, as well as a range of award-winning magazines. Reader holidays, market research and door-to-door distribution are further services available from the Division. All titles have linked websites and all aspects of electronic publishing are handled by the Division.
RADIO
The Division operates three radio stations. The stations are City Beat (Belfast), The Bay (Morecambe Bay) and Lakeland FM (Kendal). The stations are all music based, but also include local news, weather and information.
The Division operates a state-of-the-art printing press in
Carlisle. It trades under the name 'CN Newsprint'. They print
the Group's own titles, but the majority of the capacity
is used to print external customer titles. Customers
include other publishers and specialist
magazine-style publishers.
The Group has a small headquarters staff in
Carlisle and is led by Robin Burgess,
Chief Executive, who is the fourth generation of
his family to be involved in the business.
