GAME NIGHT STORY LINES
• Old Southwest Conference members Baylor and Arkansas renew their rivalry with a neutral site matchup Dec. 30 in North Little Rock, Ark. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. CST at Verizon Arena.
• Wednesday marks the 142nd meeting in the series between the former Southwest Conference rivals.
• Arkansas leads the series 96-45 and has won the last four meetings and seven of the last eight.
• Wednesday will be only the second meeting between the schools since Arkansas left the Southwest Conference for the SEC after the 1991-92 season.
• Baylor is 27-9 in the month of December under head coach Scott Drew and has won 18 consecutive December games.
• Baylor is 27-2 (.931) in the Drew era when scoring 90 or more points in a game.
• Baylor is 22-18 in nationally televised games since 1997-98, 19-16 in nationally televised games under Drew and 18-17 on the ESPN family of networks (15-15 in Drew era).

• Louisiana natives Carter (Reserve) and Dunn (Monroe) have combined for 2,272 points as Baylor Bears. Dunn (1,208) and Carter (1,064) nearly have 900 more points than the rest of Baylor's five players with Division I experience combined -- 1,376 points between Udoh (513), Lomers (409), Acy (268), Anthony Jones (133) and Fred Ellis (53).
SERIES HISTORY

• In the last series meeting (Jan. 5, 2008), Arkansas defeated Baylor, 85-78, in Dallas. • Baylor is 10-3 when scoring 80 points or more vs. Arkansas.
• Wednesday's meeting will the first between the schools in the month of December since 1959. Arkansas won that meeting, 71-66, Dec. 28, 1959, in Houston.
DECEMBER SUCCESS UNDER DREW
• Baylor is 27-9 in the month of December under head coach Scott Drew and has won 18 consecutive December games.
• Baylor's last December loss was Dec. 16, 2006, at No. 23 Syracuse (lost 94-71).
• Baylor's December winning streak started after back-to-back losses to South Carolina and Syracuse in 2006.
LAST TIME OUT VS. ARKANSAS (JAN. 5, 2008)
• Arkansas' Robert Weems scored 18 of his 21 points in the second half as the Razorbacks ended Baylor's six-game winning streak with an 85-78 victory in Dallas.
• Darian Thomas added 17 points, including eight straight for the Razorbacks in the go-ahead stretch in the second half when he also drew a charging foul that wiped out an alley-oop dunk for Baylor.
• The game was tied at 70 with 6:08 left when Thomas moved in front of a charging Tweety Carter, who passed the ball to Delbert Simpson for a slam. But Carter was called for a foul and the basket wiped out.
• Thomas then made two free throws, and stretched Arkansas' lead to 74-70 a minute later when he drove inside for a tough one-handed shot.
• Baylor was still within a basket with a minute to go, but leading scorer Curtis Jerrells missed two 3-pointers and Carter came up short on another.
• Weems, who had consecutive 3-pointers to tie the game at 55 with about 8 minutes left after Arkansas had fallen behind by nine, made four free throws in the final 19 seconds to clinch the game.
• Jerrells led Baylor with 18 points while Henry Dugat had 14. Kevin Rogers and Carter had 10 each. The Bears shot 61 percent (20-of-33) before halftime, but only 28 percent (11-of-39) after that.
LAST TIME OUT (DEC. 20, 2009, VS. UT ARLINGTON)
• Ekpe Udoh scored 22 points to lead four Baylor players in double figures and finished one block shy of a triple-double as Baylor defeated UT Arlington, 94-63, in the Ferrell Center.
• Udoh had career highs in points, rebounds (16) and blocks (nine) before fouling out with 2:04 remaining. LaceDarius Dunn added 17 points, while Tweety Carter chipped in a double-double with 12 points and 10 assists. Quincy Acy scored 10 points for the Bears.
• Udoh became the first Baylor player to record a 20-point, 15-rebound game since Lawrence Roberts vs. Texas Tech in 2003. Carter notched a career high in assists en route to his first career double-double.
• Marquez Haynes, the nation's second-leading scorer at 25.7 per game, led UTA with 16 points but also committed eight turnovers. Brandon Long added 12 points for the Mavericks, all on 3-pointers.
PREVIEWING ARKANSAS
• After starting the season 2-5, the Arkansas Razorbacks have won five straight games after handing former undefeated Missouri State its first loss of the season, 66-62, in overtime Dec. 22.
• Arkansas has held its last six opponents to under 70 points, which has translated to five straight wins. Arkansas' lone loss during the stretch came Dec. 2 to the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman, Okla., 67-47.
• Sophomore Rotnei Clarke leads all Razorbacks with 19.8 points per game through 11 contests, while shooting 52.9 percent (46-of-87) from three-point range. Three other Razorbacks join Clarke in double figures -- Marshawn Powell (14.4), Mike Washington (14.0) and Jemal Farmer (10.3).
• Baylor has more rebounds (430) than Arkansas (419) in two fewer games.
UP NEXT FOR THE BEARS
• Baylor continues its SEC road swing Saturday, Jan. 2, when the Bears face the South Carolina Gamecocks in Columbia, S.C. Tip-off is set for 11 a.m. CST (Noon EST) on FOX Sports Carolinas.
• Next week will mark the fourth meeting in the series between the schools with South Carolina leading 2-1. The road team has won each of the first three meetings.
• The game was originally scheduled for Noon CST (1 p.m. EST), but the game was bumped one hour as to not conflict with the start of South Carolina's appearance at PapaJohns.com Bowl in Birmingham, Ala.
INSTANT CLASSIC: BAYLOR'S 5OT WIN IN 2008 TO AIR NEW YEAR'S DAY ON ESPN CLASSIC
• Baylor's 116-110 five-overtime win over Texas A&M; in 2008 will be featured as part of ESPN Classic's `Best of the Decade' presentation. The game will air on New Year's Day (Jan. 1, 2010) at 6 a.m. CST on ESPN Classic (Grande Ch. 25, Time Warner Digital Cable Ch. 124).
• The five-overtime game, the longest contest in Baylor and Big 12 Conference history, is part of an eight-day, 192-hour special presentation of the decade's best games, comebacks, championships and clutch plays.
• When the Bears and Aggies met Jan. 23, 2008, in College Station, Baylor was ranked in the AP Top 25 for the first time in 39 years. Behind a career-high 36 points from Curtis Jerrells, including 11 in the fifth overtime, then-No. 25 Baylor won its first game as a ranked team with a 116-110 win in five overtimes over then-No. 18 Texas A&M.; Five different Bears fouled out, while Baylor made more free throws (39) than field goals (35).
MELE KALIKIMAKA: BAYLOR TO PLAY IN 2010 DIAMOND HEAD CLASSIC
• Baylor is one of seven teams selected to play in the 2010 Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic at the Stan Sheriff Center on the campus of the University of Hawai`i at Manoa.
• Baylor's inclusion in the second-year event marks the third consecutive season the Bears will play in an ESPN-hosted tournament. In 2008, Baylor lost in the championship game of the 76 Classic in Anaheim, Calif. Last month, the Bears finished fifth at the Old Spice Classic in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
• Tournament host school Hawai`i (WAC) will again be part of the eight-team field for the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic, along with Butler (Horizon), Florida State (ACC), Mississippi State (SEC), San Diego (West Coast), Utah (Mountain West) and one team to be determined. Five of the seven teams reached the postseason in 2008-09, with Butler, Florida State, Mississippi State and Utah playing in the 2009 NCAA Tournament. Baylor, which is off to a 9-1 start for the third straight season, advanced to the 2009 National Invitation Tournament championship game in New York City.
• The Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic, an eight-team men's college basketball tournament, will feature 12 games in three days (Dec. 22, 23 and 25). The Sheraton Hawai`i Bowl, also owned by ESPN Regional Television, will be played Dec 24.
• The tournament setup is identical to that of both the 76 and Old Spice Classics. Each team will compete in one game per day, advancing through a bracket-tournament format. The two teams that remain undefeated throughout will face off in a championship match on Christmas Day (Dec. 25, 2010).
WALTON MAKES ARKANSAS HOMECOMING
• Baylor freshman guard A.J. Walton will play in front of his hometown crowd Dec. 30 when the Bears face the Arkansas Razorbacks in North Little Rock, Ark.
• Walton was a four-year starter at point guard for Little Rock's Hall High school. He led Hall to the 2008 state championship and a runner-up finish as a senior in 2009. A four-time all-conference and two-time all-state selection, Walton averaged 12.0 points and 7.0 rebounds as a junior, earning All-Arkansas Mr. Basketball honors.
• Walton has played in all 10 games for the Bears, including starts in the season's first four contests. The freshman guard is averaging 4.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 20.8 minutes.
UDOH FALLS ONE BLOCK SHORT OF HISTORY
• Ekpe Udoh established career highs in points (22), rebounds (16) and blocked shots (nine), falling one block shy of a triple-double, to lead Baylor to a 94-63 win over UT Arlington Dec. 20 in the Ferrell Center. Udoh fouled out with 2:04 remaining in the game -- his first career foul-out.
• Udoh became the first Baylor player to record a 20-point, 15-rebound game since Lawrence Roberts vs. Texas Tech in 2003.
• Udoh's nine blocks rank second in school history only to Brian Skinner's 10 blocks, which he recorded twice in the 1995-96 season.
