You mentioned in the MTV interview that you have your own material. Is it just instrumental or are there lyrics? Do you play instruments other than the guitar? What will/has become of the material?

He and Geologist did a song for a compilation titled "Flowers for Plants". I haven't heard it though. I'm sure it's amazing.

Is that all? It doesn't even really qualify as "his" stuff though.

hey y'all,

haven't been on here for a long time. thanks for the interest in my stuff. I have done a lot. but most of it has been pretty unfinished and unpresentable. But it is still really important to me and I am hoping to spend some time this year making more music for myself. I can't promise that I will ever want anyone to hear it, but I want to make it.

Also thought I would use this as an opportunity to let you guys know that I am most likely taking a break from touring with the band until sometime this fall. It was a hard choice to come to, but for a myriad of personal reasons I decided i would benefit a lot from spending a little less time running around the world. I hope to be feeling really psyched and reenergized to rejoin the clan this fall after our record comes out. time will tell.

right now i am thoroughly psyched in tucson making this record.

thanks for listening,

joshmin

what other band... i mean a member of what other band can act like this.
geo takes a break - no problem.
deakin - no problem.
geo and deakin - no problem.
panda - no problem.

i adore ac (i'm not being sarcastic).

well hopefully it isn't pitchfork worthy. i don't really see it as a very big deal and as you point out, we have all taken break at some point (except for that Avey. how does he do it????). But really i feel very positive about the time i am taking and have total faith that the jams that are made without me will be stellar and awesome. thanks for you concern.

that's kind of a bummer to hear, but whatever works for you. I remember your volume pedal fade-in/delayed screams were hell of awesome on some of the new stuff. Those specifically stood out in my mind as awesome when I saw you at sxsw. Plus you were real cool after the show. I guess this post is just about me saying thanks for you being you. You just have to promise to come back to texas when you tour again after the record is released. Wink

no, but seriously.

Also, does "this fall after our record comes out" mean the record won't come out until fall? Oi vey!

Hope the break goes well for you though, Deak.

how Avey does it!?!?!? easy... I have figured it out!

well... if you are married to a beautiful woman like Kristín and you get lots of love and lots of songs together with her... then you could do just about anything!!
Send Avey to Iraq or Israel and I bet you he would make peace there instantly.

Love is the answer...
because I don't think he is the guy who does a lot of speedy drugs.

Panda has never missed anything either. there was a time when he decided to take a break, but it didn't interfere with touring or recording.

it must have been this that has produced all the confusion about Panda Bear leaving

Yes that must have caused all the confusion. I remember reading something somewhere that Panda Bear quit and was like Shocked

Glad it's not true though. Deakin, we're all equally psyched about the new album Smile It's going to blow our little minds as we know it. Very Happy
