DR gets puppy training from Zodiak Freshly rebranded Zodiak Rights' children's format Project Puppy has been commissioned for a run in Denmark on children's public broadcaster DR Ramasjang. The format, known as Missione Cuccioli in its native Italy, were it airs on paysat channel DeA Kids, has been picked up for a 14x30' Danish run, to be produced by Zodiak Media-owned Mastiff Media. DR Ramasjang confirmed the show would air by the year's end. Season one of the Italian original, produced by Zodiak-owned prodco Magnolia, averaged an audience share five times the channel's average, according to figures from AGB Nielsen. A second season debuted this month. Each episode of the format sees a child given responsibility of a puppy with the help of an expert dog handler, testing their readiness to own a pooch. This week, Matthew Frank formally took the reigns at Zodiak Rights, the new name of combined RDF Media and Zodiak distribution divisions. Frank's brother David heads up parent company Zodiak Media Group, which now also includes Zodiak USA. Jesse Whittock 24 Sep 2010 © C21 Media 2010 |
