FMI/OS

FMI/OS is an experimental micro-kernel operating system based on VSTa (Valencia's Simple Tasker) developed by Andy Valencia. FMI/OS is Copyleft and released under the GNU Public License.

Restructuring

There are a lot of changes going on within the FMI/OS website and within the SCM.

Wiki

We have moved off of Trac to RedMine and subsequently changed the Wiki[9] formatting from Textile to MarkDown. Due to this change the Wiki portion of the site is undergoing both a rewrite as well as a reorganization. As this is a Wiki you can help us restructure. Just sign up for an account and start contributing.

SCM

Over the years the FMI/OS project has utilized a number of SCM's, from CVS to Bzr, and many others in between. Currently we are in the process of reorganizing the source trees to better fit within RedMine.

Historical archives are accessible in the FMI/OS ftp site.

Support

The FMI/OS platform is not supported for general usage. The project is an ongoing experiment in operating system design and implementation. Development is open to the public and contributors are welcome. If you feel like playing with something different, or simply want to learn about operating systems, FMI/OS might be of interest to you.

You can help the development of FMI/OS via a number of ways.

  • Help clean up the Wiki.
  • Participate in discussions on the Forums.
  • Communicate live with other developers in IRC. (logs can be found here)
  • If you want to grab the source code and start hacking you may want to look into the Documentation page.
