Two US drone strikes on Friday killed at least 12 people in North Waziristan, local security officials said.
The first strike hit a compound in outskirts of Miranshah, the main town in North Waziristan district.
“US drone fired two missile on a house as a result 8 people were killed and three others wounded” a security official in Peshawar told AFP by telephone.
Second US missile strike killed four when it targeted a car travelling through Datta Khel, officials said.
The target of the attack — the second within an hour — was a car in Datta Khel, a small town some 30 kilometres east of North Waziristan’s main town of Miranshah, officials said.
“US drones fired three missiles at the car, killing at least four inside the car in second attack,” a security official in Peshawar told AFP on condition of anonymity.
Two intelligence officials in Miranshah confirmed the new attack and the death toll, an hour after a drone had fired two missiles on a suspected militant compound on the outskirts of Miranshah, killing 8 people.
