The Artbakery in Douala stimulates the development of the visual arts in Cameroon and the Central African region. The Artbakery has four project components. The portfolio programme in which young Cameroonian artists build up their own portfolio; the master classes - exchange projects between young artists and colleagues from all over the globe with more experience; Art Daily - training for journalists and writers in the history of art and art criticism; and Nursery - the introduction of contemporary art at local schools. In addition, Artbakery has a production unit at its disposal for video art and multimedia, The Bakery.
