Queensland's action plan for health

In 2005 the Queensland Government announced its Health Action Plan to address the challenge of providing better health services for Queenslanders.

The action plan, along with the biggest funding injection in this state's history, started the reform and renewal of the public health system.

Action plan achievements

Some of the key improvements the action plan has delivered so far include:

Regulation of junk food advertising on children's television

To support healthier choices for families, the Queensland Government recently asked Queenslanders for their views about the restriction of junk food advertising. Findings suggest the vast majority of parents support stronger restrictions on all television junk food advertising, particularly during the broadcasting of children's programs.
