Yoxgit never mingled with Cloud City's Ugnaughts and considered honest labor a sucker's bet. Not content as a security systems technician at A'roFilter, Yoxgit supplemented his income by secretly selling Tibanna gas to the Baragwin weapons designer Hermi Odle for infusion in blaster packs. He squandered his ill-gotten credits on fashionable clothes, an upper level apartment far from the working class, and a garish, luxury cloud car tricked out in shining chrome.
When the Empire took over Bespin, Yoxgit correctly predicted he would not be able to maintain his comfortable lifestyle, so he bought a seat on an outbound shuttle and headed for Tatooine to call in his favors. Hermi Odle hired Yoxgit to maintain the security system he had designed for Jabba The Hutt's palace and monitor his rival, the Skrilling gunrunner Pote Snitkin and his Yuzzum henchman, Blam Lufba.
Jabba was so pleased with Yoxgit's work that he was invited to the Hutt's sail barge to watch the execution of Solo and his would-be rescuers. Yoxgit drank and wagered on the order of the executions, feeling assured that his position among Jabba's favored was cemented. When the prisoners made their bid for freedom, he hid behind the bar and witnessed the death of the crime lord at the hands of Princess Leia Organa, all his dreams of a life of ease in the underworld rapidly disappearing. Taking up a fallen blaster he decided that to kill Leia might win him respect with whoever stepped in to take Jabba's place. Before he could act, Skywalker triggered the deck gun, the barrel of which was one level directly above his hiding place.
