His blue mohawk was starting to washout, turning his hair a shade of green.

But never one to let up on his punky appearance, Gwen Stefani's five-year-old son Kingston has had his trademark barnet bleached.

The stylish schoolboy spent the day with dad, Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale in the East Village, New York City on Friday.

They were seen outside Gavin's hotel before the band performed tracks form their five albums at The Bowery Ballroom in Manhattan.

Gavin was seen clutching a piece of paper with the Lyrics to The Beatles' Come Together, which they sang a cover of.

The 43-year-old looked stylish himself in a green jacket over a white t-shirt, blue jeans with a chain belt and dark sunglasses.

His brown hair was pulled back into a tight bun.

Also seen were Gavin's bandmates; Robin Goodridge, Chris Traynor, Corey Britz.

But there was no sign of his singer-songwriter wife Gwen, 41, and youngest son Zuma, three.

Kingston occupied himself by playing games on an iPod, letting out cheers and making fist pumps when he won a game.

Kingston first sported his mohawk last autumn.

He died it blue last month and has been seen in recent weeks, sporting a green tinge in his hair as the colour washed out.

On a recent day out with his parents, his younger brother was also seen with a streak of blue in his fair hair.

Maybe both the boys were following in their father's footsteps and are fans of Chelsea football club, who pride themselves on their blue kit.

Kingston has been compared to other celebrity spawn in the fashion stakes, including Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes daughter Suri, also five.

The little boy has a penchant for wearing colourful nailpolish and has even walked the runway with his mum at a fashion show for her label L.A.M.B in February.

Kingston probably followed his famous father to Syracuse, where his band also played over the weekend.

Gavin tweeted a picture he'd taken from stage of the crowds at K-Rockathon at the New York State Fairgrounds.

He also tweeted about his earlier show on the way to the concert, saying: 'Awesome time in NYC -now airport blues-5hr delay to Syracuse -come on delta-let's go'

He promoted the band's first new single in 10 years The Sound Of Winter.

Bush recently reformed, nine years after the release of their last album.

Their new album, The Sea Of Memories, is due out on September 13.

Gavin recently said: 'It's tricky because you want the band to evolve and you want to make songs that people really care about.

'But you also don't want to repeat yourself. I was mindful of that. My musical vocabulary is better all the time. I get better at playing guitar, I think this is the best I've ever sung, so I want the record to reflect that.'

The band are booked up until September with their next performance tonight at Scion’s Bonzai at the Monroe County Fairgrounds Rochester, New York

Disgusting. He's a child and they shouldn't be making him a fashion accessory.
