I’m one of those people who feels very indifferent to Lady GaGa, but from your comments there’s a strong love/hate divide.

Lucas alerted me to Lady GaGa’s new video “Bad Romance”, and I’ll admit I was in a trance watching her video.

She’s electrifying, energetic and totally captivating.

I love the close up beauty shots of her which allow me to see that under all those crazy costumes, hats and make-up lies a pretty girl.

In the few shots we see of GaGa actually clothed, she rockin 2 pieces from Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2010 collection.

In the opening sequence she dons a long sleeved gold metallic mini dress with futuristic shades.

At the 3.30 mark in the video, GaGa bravely walks in those staggering armadillo heels whilst wearing a beaded turtle neck dress paired with the runway pants.

From the way she’s walking it looks like you have to trot like a show pony to be actually able to walk in these heels.

At another point in the video GaGa is seen dancing around in Agent Provocateurs “Love” demi bra and panties teamed with a menacing pair of black Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 dragon heels.

She also wears these heels in white paired with matching white underwear.

“Bad Romance” is more like a fashion video than a music video.

I think this maybe the only chance we get to see the more adventurous pieces from the runway, unless they are in editorials.

I hope I’m wrong.

the moment I saw the collection Gaga sprung to my mind. I can’t think of anyone else who could pull these pieces off. It’s safe to say she rocks the hell out of them!!! I love her, and her music even more!

This video was amazing. She had me at the McQueen. I read somewhere that it was her take on human trafficking? But regardless , the clothes, crazy anime eyes, and super cute dancing makes it a big WIN in my book.

I’d love to know how they did the makeup to make her eyes look so HUGE! They look amazing.

Generally, I’m really anti-Gaga, but kudos for the cool/weird video clip, it’s certainly got artistic merit

I’m indifferent towards her too though I like some of her songs (well one actually lol). Her red carpet fashion sense kills me but in videos, I don’t mind.

i loved her to begin with but the backlash got to me and i jumped on THAT bandwagon
saying that…this video is pure art, her conceptual ideas amaze me and the pieces from the collection are sublime and needed to be seen

It’s quite fascinating to watch how the models have to walk very slowly and concentrated not to stumble in those crazy, hypnotising “shoes” during the McQueen runway show!

This video is so grotesquely arty, I love it. Part fashion installation… part music video.

That video is absolutely hypnotizing. You just can’t look away from the force that is Gaga. Love her or hate her, you can’t deny that she is an interesting character. The McQueens were perfect for a music video.

Not being a Gaga fan, I was actually very impressed by this video. Mostly for all the McQueen. I quite literally died as soon as I saw the first dress. And then the shoes. So jealous.

It kind of does look like she’s had some major blisters or something happen on her heel in that pic, it’s hard to tell if it’s on purpose or not. Either way, it looks painful :S

They Debuted her song “Bad Romance” during the Spring 2010 Alexader Mcqueen show so its fitting that she wore his spectacular designs in the video.

Gaga tells MTV that (when she’s in the Bath haus at the beginning of the video – so funny, vs the famous modernist german movement the Bauhaus) she is “washing away my sins…when they (the supermodels who are kidnapping her – funny too) shove voka down my throat to drug me up before they sell me off to the Russian Mafia.” Not sure what to make of this in relation to the actual words of the song, but visually, my eyes were glued to the video for sure. Gaga is not boring and she never stops playing with her image….although it is interesting that she choses to actually reveal her normal face in the video…..I’m always either fascinated or squirming in distaste at Gaga and I like that!

  23. I’m not a huge fan of Lady Gaga in the “real” life because I think she’s always overdressed and most of the time, just ridiculous BUT I think she makes the more interesting video…
    I LOVE this one and it’s a great concept…
I was sure she’ll wear the Armadillo as soon as I saw them during the show (Stye.com too because she’s mentionned), perfect for the video….
Is it just me or is there another pair of Alexander McQueen at the 010/02 mark?

WOW! I’ve been watching this video over and over many times today and I can’t get enough of it. Love her or Hate her you got to have someone like GaGa in the fashion/culture scene just to make things interesting. she is like the modern female version of David Bowie or Andy Warhall. Her style is always an artistic statement, though not always an aesthetic one. In this Video though she is amazing. she has NEVER looked more beautiful while still looking fierce. Thank you for posting it. It made me finally write a comment after being a fan of the Blog for A really long time. btw welcome to the blog new fashion critic. have fun!

Love the video. Captivating. Makes me think of Edward Scissorhands (innocent, big eyed, in awe vs. mechanical, scary, out of control). Anyone else think so?

Edward Scissorhands….YES I was trying to think who she reminded me of.

Even the hair is very Edward Scissorhands

Yeah, the hair too! You’re right! I thought of Edward Scissorhands straight away. It’s the big eyes! In the movie the make-up artist does something similar to Johnny Depp’s eyes to make them look enourmous!
