351st REGIMENT

 

Constituted 5 August 1917 in the National Army as the 351st Infantry and assigned to the 88th Division

Organized 30 August 1917 at Camp Dodge, Iowa

Demobilized 7 June 1919 at Camp Dodge, Iowa

Reconstituted 24 June 1921 in the Organized Reserves as the 351st Infantry and assigned to the 88th Division (later redesignated as the 88th Infantry Division)

Organized in November 1921 with Headquarters at St. Paul, Minnesota

Ordered into active military service 15 July 1942 and reorganized at Camp Gruber, Oklahoma

 Relieved 1 May 1947 from assignment to the 88th Infantry Division

(Organized Reserves redesignated 25 March 1948 as the Organized Reserve Corps; redesignated 9 July 1952 as the Army Reserve)

Withdrawn 15 November 1951 from the Organized Reserve Corps and allotted to the Regular Army

Inactivated 30 September 1956 at Fort Rucker, Alabama

Withdrawn 26 March 1959 from the Regular Army and allotted to the Army Reserve; concurrently redesignated as the 351st Regiment

Activated 18 May 1959 as an element of the 84th Division (Training) with Headquarters at Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Reorganized 31 January 1968 to consist of the 1st, 2d, and 3d Battalions, elements of the 84th Division (Training)

Reorganized 16 September 1995 to consist of the 1st and 2d Battalions, elements of the 84th Division (Training)

Reorganized 16 October 1996 to consist of the 1st Battalion, an element of the 84th Division (Training)         

1st Battalion inactivated 15 April 1997 and relieved from assignment to the 84th Division (Training)

351st Regiment reorganized 17 October 1999 to consist of the 1st, 2d, and 3d Battalions, elements of the 87th Division (Training Support); 1st, 2d, and 3d Battalions concurrently allotted to the Regular Army

(1st, 2d, and 3d Battalions relieved 15 December 2007 from assignment to the 87th Division [Training Support])
