Brianna Brown in Showtime’s Homeland

Showtime’s psychological thriller Homeland has booked Brianna Brown for a guest starring role that could possibly become recurring. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brown will be playing Lynne Reed, a former Miss Ohio winner who works as a procurer for Prince Farid Bin Abbud. She uses her good looks and intelligence to secure a safe future for herself. You can’t get much safer than working your way into the life of a prince. No judgment from me on how she uses her sexuality.

Brown is best known for playing Dr. Lisa Niles on ABC’s General Hospital. Her last appearance on the daytime drama aired on Tuesday, where her character was accidentally put in a coma after being injected with a syringe filled with drain cleaner, but not before she held several doctors hostage and shot a couple of them. Even with out the syringe of drain cleaner, Niles would have most likely used her gun to commit suicide, so she’d be out of the series either way. Brown has also done a number of guest starring roles in shows like Criminal Minds, The Closer, CSI and Smallville.

Homeland stars Clair Danes as Carrie Anderson, a CIA officer investigating the disappearance and subsequent rescue of Marine Sergeant Nicholas Brody. Mandy Patinkin also stars as Saul Berenson, who shares Anderson’s suspicions that Brody has begun working with al Qaeda and is planning a terrorist attack in the United States. Morena Baccarin appears as Brody’s wife. The series is set to premiere in the fall of 2011.

About Brody Gibson

I went to film school in Vancouver, BC. I've taken up writing about film and TV as a way to cope with not having a real career. Just kidding, although it was never my intention to get into writing after high school, my path in life wound up taking me here. I want to either be a professional critic or a screenwriter. Which ever comes first. To say I love television is a bit of an understatement. I watch it religiously, think about it constantly. To be able to talk about it is one the best things in the world.
