The Tagore Festival was a great success! 
I would like to express my deep gratitude to all you who came to participate
in the festival – nearly 6000 people came throughout the week. 

The combination of dance, music, poetry and philosophical talks and workshops made
the festival an uplifting experience.  The festival was to honour the great visionary
Rabindranath Tagore but it was also an occasion to explore the ways to live now in
such a sustainable an resilient way so that humanity is at ease with itself and in
harmony with the natural world.
 
All the speakers and artists performed extremely well – they were at the top of their form.
It was heartening that 6000 people were engaged in the sphere of growth in imagination,
creativity , spirituality and sustainability while politicians, media and corporations are
obsessed with economic growth. The message of the festival was that the economy has
a place but it should be put in its place and not be allowed to dominate all the other spheres.
 
The success of the festival was due to many partners, funders, staff, volunteers
and those who came to perform and participate, so my heartfelt thanks goes to all.
