A ruling member of the Grand Hutt Council, Oruba was an ancient Hutt, taken to affectations like his rakish chapeau and expensive wrap. Oruba's pale skin -- a genetic defect that left him bereft of pigment -- was prone to cracking, meaning the gangster often pampered himself to keep from unsightly chafing. Oruba would regularly convene with his fellow Hutt councilors in the halls of the Great Hutt Council on Nal Hutta.
Oruba was subservient to Jabba the Hutt, who led the Grand Hutt Council. A Hutt as old as Oruba could be counted on to share valuable experience from his centuries of scheming.
Oruba sat on the council as it deliberated on the fate of the traitorous Ziro the Hutt. The council was stymied by Ziro's bid to blackmail his fellow Hutts by making public sensitive transactions.
Gorga the Hutt sat on the council alongside Oruba. Gorga had a head for business, as well as survival.
Nal Hutta is an oppressively hot, stink-infested swamp, making it an ideal home to Oruba the Hutt.
When Darth Maul was forming a Shadow Collective of criminal organizations, he attempted to coerce the Hutts to join his cause. They declined, prompting Maul to strike violently. While most of the council fled, Oruba was left behind and killed by the Sith Lord.
