'Fast and the Furious' adds to cast

De Almeida, Pataky join Universal sequel

Universal has added three passengers to "The Fast and the Furious 5."

Joaquim de Almeida and Elsa Pataky are joining the high-octane pic as the villain and female lead, respectively. Matt Schulze, who appeared in the first pic in the franchise, has also joined the cast, which is being toplined by Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Lensing is under way in Puerto Rico and will later move to Atlanta. Universal will release the Justin Lin-helmed film June 10, 2011.

Portuguese thesp de Almeida ("24," "Desperado") will play a ruthless and powerful drug lord. Pataky, a native of Spain, is onboard as Diesel's love interest.

Neal Moritz is producing through his Original Film banner alongside One Race Films' Diesel and Samantha Vincent.

De Almeida is repped by APA and Principal Entertainment.

Pataky is managed by Roar.

Schulze is managed by Principato-Young.
