Avoid fraud by meeting all sellers in-person to pay for items.

Don’t carry large sums of cash on you.

Meet the seller in a public place. Banks have security cameras and you can do an EFT once you both agree to the conditions of sale.

If you’re unsure of the item before meeting the seller, request more photos.

If you’re buying an item that carries a certificate of ownership (such as a car), make sure you get the certificate together with the item.
