Hawaiian music part of Grammys again

HONOLULU (AP) _ For the second year in a row, a Grammy Award will be given for the category Best Hawaiian Music Album.
The nominees were announced today in New York.
They are Kapono Beamer's ``Slack Key Dreams Of The Ponomoe,'' ``Sweet and Lovely'' by Raiatea Helm, ``Kiho'alu -- Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar,'' by Ledward Ka'apana, Sonny Lim's ``Slack Key Guitar: The Artistry Of Sonny Lim,'' and ``Masters Of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar -- Volume One,'' by various artists.
Hawaii's Jack Johnson received two nominations -- Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for ``Sitting, Waiting, Wishing,'' and Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals for ``Gone Going'' with the Black Eyed Peas.
The Grammys will be handed out in Los Angeles on February eighth.
Hawaiian music had its own Grammy category for the first time at the last awards show.
``Slack Key Guitar Volume Two,'' a compilation of songs by various artists, won the Grammy for Best Hawaiian Music Album.
