Review

Who’d have thought that the shy, red-headed, scouse girl from back in the day of Popstars: The Rivals would turn out to be one of Girls Aloud’s solo superstars.

Her new single, ‘Lucky Day’ is out on 18 September and is the perfect medium between classic pop lyrics, a pulsing dance beat and fashionably styled with enough woah woah woah and mmmm mmmm mmmm to satisfy the most Hoxton of hipsters.

The colourful New York-based video is a pleasure to watch. With sporadic  dance routines to multi-coloured sperm grafitti and light-up bins. She also appears to have forgotten to put her trousers on, so all you Nicola Roberts fans get a lovely flash of her knickers a fair few times in the video. So get the pause button ready, ladies!

Even though Nicola’s first single only peaked at number 27 in the charts, here are So So Gay we’re confident this summery hit will have the dance floors packed, which will shoot the record up into the Top Ten.

Or Top Twenty at least.
