David Prutton was delighted to have got off the mark in Town colours, but was disappointed to have seen his side drop two points at home in the 1-1 draw with Brentford on Saturday.

The 28-year-old headed a 41st minute equaliser to cancel out Charlie McDonald's 8th minute opener, and was pleased to have opened his account.

He said: "It's always nice when you score goals, and hopefully there will be more to come.

"We sent the big dope (Sean Morrison) up front and threw it on his head which was good for me," he smiled.

"It was disappointing not to get the win, but if you take the results away from the games we've played, then overall we'd be pleased - but it's a results game.

"There's a lot to work on, but there's no need to be doom and gloom about it."

Prutton added that he is pleased with his overall contribution to the team since joining over the summer.

He said: "I'm happy to be in the team and contributing, but I'm sure the manager would agree we're a work in progress.

"With the early season stuff, you want to get to match sharpness as quick as possible, and I think we're getting there.

"And I'm enjoying it, which is the most important thing.

"I think it's coming together, but only when we start really dominating teams can we say it's properly gelling."
