Follow the online registration link at the bottom of the page and click "My Account" on the welcome page of our online registration site to log in.

  • If you’ve forgotten your Login ID you may attempt to log in with your e-mail address instead. To do so, click the e-mail button above the Login ID field before entering your e-mail address.
  • If you’ve forgotten your Password you can retrieve it by clicking "Forgotten?" under the Password field.
  • If you still cannot login, please call the Registrar’s office at (617) 585-1134 or e-mail prepceregistration@necmusic.edu. Please do not create a new account for your family.

New Preparatory School Families: The first step of the registration process is creating an online account for your family. To begin creating your family account, follow the online registration link at the bottom of the page and click "Create Account" on the welcome page of our online registration site. Parents, please create an account for yourselves first. Then add your children to your account by clicking “Submit & Add Family Member” at the bottom of the page.

After logging in

Once you log in, you will be directly connected to the “Account Options” page. This page is where you can manage various aspects of your family’s accounts. Please review the following before registering for courses.

  • Update your personal information by clicking on “Change your Address or Personal Information” under “Personal Information."
  • Update your answers to various questions by clicking on “Change Question Answers” under “Personal Information.” New questions have been added since you last registered.  Please answer all questions on behalf of your family.
  • Click “Change Information about Family Members”. On that screen you should see all members of your family who have an association with NEC. If you are the parent of a Prep School student and your child is not listed under your account, please add him/her.

General Registration Information

Attending classes or informing instructors of the intent to register does not constitute registering for courses. Registration is complete only when online registration is complete and payment has been received and processed. All participants in lessons, classes and ensembles must register and pay the corresponding fees.

Registration can be done online or in person at the 241 St. Botolph St office, Tuesday-Friday from 9-5 and Saturday from 8-4. In person registration begins on September 6, 2011. The office is closed on Mondays.

Students who wish to register for private lessons should do so only after a studio teacher assignment is made and both teacher and student agree on the number and length of lessons. Students who need a teacher assignment should contact the office at 617-585-1130.

All new students will need to get an NEC ID. If you lose your ID, a $15 fee is charged to replace it.

Students and their parents are responsible for adhering to the registration deadlines and policies that are printed in the Prep School catalog and website. Students who have questions about registration should not rely on their instructors or other students for information regarding official policies. Misinformation or failure to read these guidelines does not exempt students from the printed registration policies and deadlines.
