The Music Technology Classroom (MTC) is the most technologically advanced space at NEC. Located across the hall from the Student Computer Lab in the St. Botolph building, the MTC is supported by ITS staff and student employees and is composed of 18 student stations and one instructor station.

Each station has an iMac G5 computer, an 88 piano-key controller, and a host of music software to support teaching and learning in a variety of courses—including Fundamentals of Music Theory (THYU 093), Tonal Practice (THYU 06, 207, 208), Composing for Film and Multimedia (CMP 463T), and various ear training courses—as well as in advanced audio editing/sequencing and object-oriented programming in electronic music.
