Durban - Muhsin Ertugral has been appointed new coach of Premiership soccer team Golden Arrows, subject to a work permit, the club confirmed on Monday.
The former Kaizer Chiefs and Ajax Cape Town coach has been out of a job since resigning from Turkish club Sivasspor in March last year.
He replaced German Ernst Middendorp, who was sacked by the club last week after just two wins in seven league matches this season.
"Subject to the necessary requirements of the department of home affairs being met, the team has been fortunate to secure the services of the highly experienced and qualified Muhsin Ertugral," Arrows said in a statement.
"He will take up employment as soon as he has confirmed his status with the department of home affairs."
The 52-year-old had two successful spells with Amakhosi (1999/03 and 2007/09) and the Urban Warriors (2006/07 and 2009), winning trophies with both clubs.
His acquisition will be seen as a major coup for Abafana Besthende boss Mato Madlala, who was hoping her team would be challenging for honours this season rather than sitting at the bottom end of the league table.
Arrows' next assignment is a home match against Mamelodi Sundowns on October 15.
