    • Artemio Armenta
Carlos Fuentes died today. He was professor-at-large at my alma mater Brown University. When I was a First-Year at Brown I met him and saw him lecture, along with other fellow Brunonians. Carlos Fuentes signed a copy of his 1996 book for me, A New Time for Mexico. Inside, he wrote, "Para el otro Artemio..." white translates to "For the other Artemio." (He made reference to his 1962 novel, La Muerte de Artemio Cruz (The Death of Artemio Cruz).
