NISAR THOKAR
Muzaffarabad, Oct 8: The Prime Minister of Pakistan Syed Yousuf Raza Geelani on Saturday inaugurated Mirwaiz Moulvi Farooq Medical College here.
“The Muzaffarabad Medical College has been dedicated in the name of renowned Kashmiri leader late Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq in recognition of his peerless contribution in the Kashmir struggle,” Gilani said while speaking at the inaugural ceremony.
“Kashmiris and Pakistanis are one as their hearts throb in unison,” he added.
“Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto’s political philosophy and their love for the people of Kashmir serve as a beacon light and a source of inspiration for all Pakistani leaders,” Gilani said.
He said the leadership of Pakistan Peoples Party had always projected and promoted Kashmir cause effectively at international level. “The way Bhuttos highlighted Kashmir issue was outstanding and unparalleled,” he added.
Gilani arrived here this morning to express solidarity with the people of Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) on the 6th anniversary of October 8 earthquake that killed more than 80,000 people in 2005.
He inaugurated series of development projects, including a hospital and a high-school.
The visiting leader said that the incumbent democratic dispensation would make all out efforts to rehabilitate the people who were hit by the earthquake six years ago.
Terming October 8 earthquake as the greatest tragedy, he said, “Government and the people of Pakistan fully realize and feel the pain and grief of the victims of the history’s worst ever natural catastrophe.”
Gilani also hailed donors and international community for lending aid and assistance to rehabilitate the people affected by the massive earthquake that killed over 80, 000 people and rendering millions of survivors homeless and destitute.
