  • Baker Scholars Program

  • Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Cellular Biology, Department of

    The Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Program acquaints the medical student with an understanding of basic biochemistry, molecular biology and concepts as they relate to mammalian metabolism in health and disease. Advanced elective courses offered by the department are available to qualified students throughout their four years of training.

  • Bioethics Literature, National Reference Center for

    The National Reference Center for Bioethics Literature is a specialized collection of books, journals, newspaper articles, legal materials, regulations, codes, government publications and other relevant documents concerned with issues in biomedical and professional ethics. The library holdings represent the world's largest collection related to ethical issues in medicine and biomedical research.

  • Biohazardous Threat Agents and Emerging Infectious Diseases Program

    The Department of Microbiology & Immunology offers a masters of science degree in biohazardous threat agents and emerging infectious diseases. The program is especially relevant for students seeking positions in biodefense, for which knowledge of biological and chemical weapons of mass destruction are vital in preventing a potential terrorist attack.

  • Biology, Department of

    The Department of Biology offers majors in biology, environmental biology, neurobiology and in the biology of global health as a part of its undergraduate program.   • Biostatistics, Bioinformatics and Biomathematics, Department of

    The Department of Biostatistics, Bioinformatics and Biomathematics is both a shared resource for the Georgetown community and an academic department. As a shared resource, the department provides a masters of science program in biostatistics and teaches service courses to Georgetown medical student. The department also offers consulting to the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center (LCCC) and to investigators with expertise in the biostatistical, bioinformatical and biomathematical aspects of clinical, basic science and population science research projects.

  • Biotechnology Program

    The program in biotechnology reflects the multidisciplinary nature of biotechnology, integrating theoretical and lab-based science courses with exposure to the business, bioethical and legal frameworks in the field, including intellectual property issues, entrepreneurial development and regulatory concerns.

  • BMW Center for German and European Studies

    The BMW Center provides an institutional foundation at Georgetown for disciplinary and interdisciplinary research and teaching on modern Germany and Europe, with emphasis on cultural studies, economics, history and political science. The master of arts in German and European Studies program and joint graduate degree programs with other academic units educates future generations of transatlantic leaders. Through its event programming, partnership initiatives and outreach activities, the center fosters a broad conception of U.S.-European relations.

  • Breast Cancer Program

    The Breast Cancer Program is a clinical translational program co-led by a breast cancer medical oncologist who studies familial genetics and prevention of breast cancer and a basic scientist who studies molecular endocrinology and drug resistance. Program members are part of an interdisciplinary group of basic scientists, translational scientists and clinicians involved in studies ranging from preclinical models to breast cancer treatment and outcomes.

  • Business and Public Policy, Center for

    The Georgetown Center for Business and Public Policy is a nonpartisan research center whose mission is to engage scholars, business people and policymakers in relevant inquiries and dialogue to impact key business, economic and public policy issues confronting American and international businesses today. The foundation of the center is a set of Senior Policy Fellows whose research interests focus on two vital economic issues facing the United States and virtually every other economy – competition and innovation.
