FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

How can I compare 2 or more credit cards?

Select the box to the left of the card logo within the table for the credit cards you wish to compare and click on ‘Compare’ at the top or bottom of the table. This will display a wider selection of card features for all the cards you have selected to compare and allow you to simply compare the card features. (maximum of 6 credit cards)

0% Credit Cards

A 0% credit card provides you with the benefit of not charging interest on your card balance. Interest free periods are usually limited, after which a rate of interest is applied to the outstanding balance.

Balance Transfer

A Balance Transfer credit card allows you to transfer existing store or credit card debt to a new credit card initially with a potentially lower rate of interest. Particular attention should be paid to the length of time the opening offer is for, once the offer ends the full APR resumes and the full interest will be charged from that point on.

0% Purchase

A Zero percent purchase credit card offers an introductory rate that is interest free for new purchases for a specific term after which the standard rate applies. If you are looking for help with your cash flow then a 0% purchase credit card might do the trick but be aware that each credit card will vary on the term of the interest free period and the standard rate in which it will revert to therefore it is important that you compare these features before applying.

Interest Free credit cards

Interest free credit cards are credit cards which offer an interest free period on the credit that is either borrowed from, or transferred onto, the card. Interest free periods are usually limited, after which a rate of interest is applied to the outstanding balance.

Low Interest Credit Cards

A low interest credit card or low rate credit card will feature a low interest rate, so the interest charged on the outstanding balance is lower than most standard rate cards in the market. This is a good option if you do not want to be switching your credit cards regularly to take advantage of interest free deals as the card charges a consistently low interest rate.

Cashback

A cashback credit card is a credit card which pays you each time you spend on them. Cashback Credit Cards will give you back a small percentage of your overall spend, each time you use them, which means, over the course of a year, you will receive a percentage of your yearly spend back. This form of Credit Card could be a good source of gaining additional finance.

Bad Credit Credit Cards

A Bad Credit Credit Card is a credit card for bad credit or for people with a low/poor credit rating, CCJs or who have claimed bankruptcy. Bad Credit Credit Cards function just like regular credit cards, but due to the perceived higher risk the applicant poses to the card issuer, they often carry a higher rate of interest, and benefits may be reduced.

Rewards

Rewards credit cards offer rewards or incentives for use. These rewards can vary greatly from air miles to contributions to charities.

Gold and Platinum Credit Cards

A platinum credit card is a type of credit card product which provides similar features and benefits as a standard credit card, however to qualify for a gold credit card or a platinum credit card you may need a higher income than that required for regular a card. Gold cards and platinum cards may offer higher credit limits and an increased daily cash withdrawal allowance.

Prestige cards may also offer additional benefits such as free extended warranty on many household appliances, free purchase protection, savings on travel / hotels and even free travel insurance. They often have similar benefits to reward cards too in the form of airmiles or money off vouchers for example.

Travel Cards

A travel credit card is a card providing benefits on travel. This can vary from air miles, saving money on holiday bookings to 0% commission when using abroad.

Business Credit Cards

A business credit card is usually issued to corporate executives or business owners to more easily keep business expenses separate from personal charges. Many financial institutions provide this product with additional benefits for the business.

Sport Credit Cards

Sports Credit Cards are, for example Football Credit Cards, that are issued by sporting organization that allow individuals to carry their Football Team Credit Card in their wallet. Many supporters enjoy seeing their football team and credit cards united and the growth of football team and credit card offerings are a growing market. Many football clubs not only offer Football Credit Cards they also offer Team and Rewards Credit Card with the benefit of Team and Reward Credit Cards being that as well as having your teams credit card in your wallet you benefit by getting reward points every time you use it

How to find the Best credit card for you

To find top credit card deals or the best credit card for you ensure that you shop around. There are a number of different credit card types in the market all of which have different benefits and interest rates and therefore it is a good idea to compare credit cards in order to find a cheap credit card that suits you're spending or saving requirements.
