Nashville, TN /Christian News/ – Worship leader, singer and songwriter Miriam Webster releases her debut Kingsway Music album, Made Me Glad, April 20, 2010 with EMI CMG Distribution. After 11 years in the creative worship environment at Hillsong Church in Sydney, Australia, where she recorded many of her songs that have been sung globally, Webster now writes, records and ministers from her home base in the United States.

Featuring the Top 100 CCLI song, “Made Me Glad,” and new songs penned by Webster, the album also includes “Peace,” written by Miriam’s brother Simeon Webster, and “Praise Him,” co-written with her brother. The recording further features a compelling duet with acclaimed Hillsong worship leader Darlene Zschech on the stirring track, “Loving Kindness.”

“I know that this project of songs that truly magnify the Lord have been tested and lived, not just sung,” reflects Zschech about songs on Made Me Glad. “And she has poured herself into every part of this album, so that you, the listener, may draw closer to Christ and receive revelation from Him as He draws close to you. So, be blessed, inspired, and may you fall in love with Jesus even more through these beautiful songs of worship.”

Recorded in Franklin, TN, with A-list Nashville musicians, including Stephen Leiweke, Derri Daugherty (The Choir) and Jerry McPherson on guitars; Chris Donohue and Matt Pierson on bass; Ken Lewis on drums; and Jeff Roach, Ben Shives and Blair Masters on keys, the album reflects Webster’s passion for the church and the people of God.

“The album was mostly shaped by songs that have been inspired from personal praise and worship, or times with God where I received life and strength through His Word,” says Webster. “As worshipers, I think writers get the urge to put these revelations to song because it’s not just for us; it’s for the world.”

“We have seen the breakdown of family, the abuse of people all over the world and economic challenges as nations have drifted from God’s Word, which is our guideline to enjoy life and honor each other,” continues Webster. “I believe keeping close to Jesus and living by His Word, while society continues to force its values on us, is what will keep us firm, real and relevant.”

This perspective shapes the formative history of the album and title track, Made Me Glad, revealing the way that Webster’s faith and craft collide:

“One day I was speaking some words of praise to God and said, ‘You have made me glad.’ It’s like He grabbed those words and praise rose up within me. He revealed to me freshly that day that it doesn’t matter where I am – in a beautiful hotel or the opposite – Jesus is the One who makes me glad, and my joy is found in Him.”

Winning the Interstate Music Awards at age 15, Miriam Webster served with Hillsong since 1996 and has been featured on many of its praise and worship albums. In recent years, Miriam has emerged as one of the premier Christian songwriters of our time, composing many praise and worship songs sung by congregations around the world today and recorded by the likes of New Breed, Alvin Slaughter, Don Moen, Martin Smith and Sandi Patty. Her songs include “Made Me Glad,” “Dwelling Places,” “Welcome in This Place” and “You Are Faithful.” She is also the original vocalist on the well-known song, “Worthy is the Lamb,” written by Darlene Zschech. Miriam Webster has a passionate desire to see people come to intimately love, worship and receive freedom in Jesus Christ, and she lives her life to love and serve God wholeheartedly.
