Southport pensioner murdered

Murdered: Pete Denver Smith.

An 84-year-old man was found dead in his home last Sunday.

PETE Smith appeared to have been bludgeoned to death by his attacker or attackers.
According to police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid, Mr Smith’s body was found in the bathroom of his home by a friend on May 8.

"Mr Smith had multiple open wounds to the face, head and hand," said Lt-Col Wiid. "The garage door was open and two safes had been opened. A small amount of cash was missing.”

Police are investigating.
