Wildcat Athletic Program Among Best in Nation

The Chico State athletics program is among the NCAA Division II elite for the seventh consecutive year.

  • Chico State Athletics was the best in the California Collegiate Athletic Association in 2010-11. Chico State won CCAA titles in men’s and women’s cross country and men’s and women’s track & field, finished second in men’s soccer and men’s golf, and third in softball and baseball. And Kyle Souza was men’s golf NCAA Division II national champion!
  • The Wildcats earned their seventh straight top-25 finish in the U.S. Sports Academy Directors’ Cup standings, coming in 12th in the 2009-10 campaign, among all 283 Division II schools.
  • Forty-one Wildcat student-athletes earned CCAA All-Academic award honors for the 2010-11 academic year, earning a GPA of 3.4 or higher.
  • Since 1998, Chico State’s athletic teams have won 99 NCAA Championship berths, 40 CCAA titles, 24 West Region titles, and 15 National titles.
