What a fun place to practice map reading skills. I tagged along on this lesson with the grandkids who managed to stay focused and get us where we wanted to go. They identified the key and the compass. They were able to identify the rides that might be too scary for the younger kids and looked up the height requirements for the rides. They were able to find the nearest restrooms and food. It was definitely the most enjoyable map reading lesson I've ever experienced. A visit to Tom Sawyer's Island was an added bonus for Timothy who is in the middle of reading The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.

It's not Hot Dog Day, but it's a good day for a hot dog! When I was a child, the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile came down my street, greeted me and gave me an Oscar Mayer Wiener Whistle. It was very exciting! When my daughter saw an Oscar Mayer Wienermobile at the Orange Mall, she snapped this picture for me with three of my grandsons posing. It made my day! Here's a Hot Dog Coloring Page for you.
