Early voting in
Nashville opened this morning and will continue through July 30th.
Normally, the hottest item on the
ballot would be the Mayor's Race although this year it looks like it just may be the
Saving the Fairgrounds amendment.
The local battle lines to
Save the Fairgrounds were drawn
nearly two years ago and it looks like this saga just might be finally drawing to a close.
2011 Fairground Updates
- Nascar.com Highlights the History of the Nashville Fairgrounds Racetrack.
- As part of a two-year extension agreement, the Nashville council agreed to allow a limited amount of racing at the fairgrounds track until 2012.
- Save My Fairgrounds led a successful petition-drive to add a fairgrounds referendum in the August 2011 ballot.
- Save My Fairgrounds supporter Jamie Hollin releases a video asking for support in Saving the Fairgrounds.
- Saving My Fairgrounds releases voter information & news updates to help supporters save the fairgrounds
Election Day is set for August 4th, 2011 and
all polling locations are set to be open from
from 7:00 A.M. TO 7:00 P.M.

Yes, you can definitely say, in all honestly, that
Nashville is officially going to the dogs this weekend. Although, in this case we're not talking about
Snopp Dogg strutting on a Nashville stage anytime soon, we're talking about Red Carpets and some ever so Cool Canines strutting their stuff in the latest
Doggie Couture.
Hosted by the
Agape Animal Rescue, the 3rd Annual Glitter & Glam: A Wine Tasting & Fashion Show for the Animals is being held this Sunday night (July 17th, 2011) at
Loews Vanderbilt Hotel from 5-8 pm.
Tickets are still available for a donation of $60.00.
