GoDaddy Sold for $2.25 Billions USD!

Saturday July 2, 2011
Yes it's for real - GoDaddy, the biggest domain registrar in the world, has been sold for over couple of billion dollars!

The announcement was made during late hours of Friday - July 1st, 2011 that the company has been sold for about $2.25 billions to 3 private equity firms; notably KKR & Co., Silver Lake Partners and Technology Crossover Ventures who are reported to have sealed the deal... Interesting, the company CEO remains unchanged, and looks happy with the deal, and he stated that company would be able to grow at a higher rate, recruiting new talents as well as potential investors.

GoDaddy has been renowned for their infamous uber cool sizzling super sexy Super Bowl ads, and their sales figures have gone by $947M from 2009 to 2010 marking an amazing increase of about 25%, and it's projected to go up to $1.1 billion for 2011.

Let's see what changes this acquisition brings about, and how far it helps in growing the company!

As for the customers, nothing has changed on GoDaddy site yet, but you may expect to see some changes soon enough. (though hopefully not the pricing, or change in their services, or the service agreements!)
