Dan Byles MP and his wife celebrate the birth of their first daughter

Dan Byles, the former soldier who became the new Conservative Member of Parliament for North Warwickshire & Bedworth in May last year, this week celebrated the end of Labour. He hasn’t done away with his political rivals! Rather he and his wife Prashanthi proudly announced the birth of their first child – a little girl.

 

Little Sasha Byles was born at 11.22pm last Wednesday weighing 6lbs 6ozs, and both mother and daughter are reported to be doing extremely well.

More Than 200 Entries Received The Member of Parliament for North Warwickshire & Bedworth has declared himself delighted with the response to what he hopes will become a new annual tradition - a competition among primary school children to designing his official House of Commons Christmas cards.

The MP for North Warwickshire & Bedworth and leading campaigner against High Speed Rail, Dan Byles, today welcomed what he called a 'serious and level headed' review of the proposed High Speed Rail project (HS2). The review came in the form of a report by the influential House of Commons Transport Select Committee which was published this week.

Last week, I almost missed the controversial vote on holding a referendum on our continued membership of the EU (I voted for a referendum by the way!). Had the vote been held on the Thursday, as it was originally supposed to be, I was due to be away for two days on a Select Committee visit. Ironically, the visit was to Brussels , and I had already made the decision to cut short the trip and return to Westminster in order to vote. The thought of missing a key vote over the EU, because I was in Brussels visiting the EU of all things, was just too much!
