The unbeaten junior-lightweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. received a six-month suspended sentence and two days of house arrest in a domestic violence case.
Mayweather entered a plea bargain to two counts of domestic violence and a charge of misdemeanor battery in a separate case, Las Vegas District Attorney Stewart Bell said. Bell said the boxer was also fined $3,000 and would receive counseling and perform 48 hours of community service.
Mayweather, a 1996 Olympian and the World Boxing Council superfeatherweight champion, is scheduled to challenge the W.B.C.'s lightweight champion, Jose Luis Castillo, on April 20 in Las Vegas.
