Thank you for that. To be honest, I posted this hoping it would be proven wrong.

This looks like a predominately libertarian site, but you might find some good stuff here.

So, if you don't mind me asking- why did your daughter run away? Why did she not try to contact you after so long? Did you ever find your ex, or keep in touch with her? What did she end up doing?

Scary movie that used to air on SciFi/SyFy, about a group of people who go into a mansion, by Xeahin tipofmytongue

If you can't figure it out here, you could always try the forums over on IMDB. Sorry you're having so much trouble. I really miss the old Sci Fi channel, myself :( Maybe they should come out with a "Classic Sci Fi" channel, the way Cartoon Network did with Boomerang, for all their old stuff.

Fantastic movie. I love films like that, White Noise, Pulse- anything which tries to explain what we might otherwise write off as ghosts as something at least somewhat more scientific. It just makes the concept seem that much more plausible.

Which is all good and well, but it doesn't address the problems of the native population. You can't pay people not to succumb to alcoholism, for example.

Pat Buchanan’s must read new book. | Every aspect of American live is splinting along racial lines. Whites, Blacks, and Latinos have different music, different clothes, different hangouts, and hobbies. Much of American life is geared towards one individual racial group. by Occidentalistin WhiteRights

If anyone's not read it yet, check out one of his previous books, "The Death of the West". I've yet to read this one, but it sounds like "Death" may essentially function as a prequel. It's a great book, equal parts intellectually stimulating, and haunting.

I was going to simply get this book at the library, but this article convinced me. I'm buying it.

Too bad Pat Buchanan didn't make the cut. He was indirectly responsible for the creation of the Constitution Party, one of the largest third parties in the country today. And while he might not have made the impact people would have liked, I'd argue his failed bid for the GOP nomination was a precursor to Ron Paul's run- showing the world that the neocons were not the only faction in the party, and struggling for the very direction and soul of the movement. Even today, he's one of only a few well known non-neocon, non-moderate Republican figures out there making headlines.

Which could have theoretically ended the war a hell of a lot quicker, possibly resulted in less lives being lost than what were (especially if you consider the Cambodian genocide an exponent of our presence in Vietnam), cost both sides far less suffering in the long term, and prevented us and others from becoming as otherwise fractured as we became.

Another interesting point I've heard is that, towards the end of his life, William F. Buckley lamented the rise of the neocons in control of the party.

The Mist by dizmogin movies

At least his memory is kept alive in other media. Everyone from South Park to Justice League have referenced Cthulu, for example. Personally, I disagree with chrisc098- I loved Dagon. There was actually a lot of speculation when Resident Evil 4 (the game) came out that it was based off the film.

I don't think I understand what you are saying. Are you suggesting that wealth is a disease? Success? I'm saying that if more people within the 1% don't show "symptoms" than do, then perhaps it is a mistake to assume simply being in the 1% has anything to do with it at all.

The Best Title Not Enough People are talking About by 0157h7in comicbooks

[–]DJWhamo 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, this was kind of a difficult question for me. I like a lot of stuff that isn't considered "mainstream", but a lot of it also gets talked about on these forums. Hack/Slash isn't Marvel or DC, and I only saw a couple of posts about it, with minimal commentary- so I figured it might count. I'm glad to hear about other people enjoying it, though.

Flashback: When John Edwards' infidelity broke out, the tabloid *Enquirer* had to pursue the story. MSM wouldn't touch it. In comparison...they are eager to run unsubstantiated stories on Cain, without remorse. by DaddyGovernmentin Conservative

About a decade or so ago, I was standing around with a couple of coworkers, a guy and a girl. The guy made an off-color remark about Catholics (we were all Catholic). I said nothing, but laughed. Next day, I get called into the office and find out the girl has filed a harassment complaint about me. So I asked if I could talk to her about it. No. I asked if we could have a mitigation hearing with HR. No. I asked if I could appeal it. No.

So that's on my record at that job. If I ever ran for anything, someone could look that up, and I'd be in the same damn situation, even though the only thing I did was laugh at a f@cking joke. And because the person who complained was a girl, regardless of anything I say, there are people out there who would assume the worst. My reputation? I can only imagine.

Fuck the people who ran with this story. A person should be innocent until proven guilty, and they knew damn well what this would do to him in the court of public opinion. This has r/mensrights written all over it.

"The 1%" identifies wealth, not actions. You are saying then that certain actions are essentially synonymous with being in the 1%. I'd therefore argue that the burden of proof is on those who claim such a thing to prove that the majority of the people who are in that group- anyone who makes approximately $344,000 a year or more, which would include a variety of celebrities, and no doubt small or medium size business owners, among others, engages in those actions which specifically contribute to a class war.
