in me
It’s finally here!
Black Friday seems like 100 years ago, but it was just less than a week ago that Truth in the Tinsel launched. Today over 2700 people have joined the facebook page and I am ridiculously excited about starting this whole advent-ure with them you!
Today’s scripture is from Isaiah 9:2, “The people who are now living in darkness will see a great light. They are now living in a very dark land. But a light will shine on them. “ Did you know our kids are living in darkness? We are born into sin. But soon our children will see a great light! A light will shine on them–the Light of heaven, the Light of the world: Jesus! That’s why Truth in the Tinsel is so important–not to just do something with your kids, but to show them the Light of the world!
Our first ornament is actually being handed out in the car. Why? Because we are on our way to Disney World! Yes! I did not know I’d be writing a book about the first 24 days of December when we booked the trip!
But guess what? Last night, my husband came home with a brand new iPhone for me! (See it up there?) My phone is decidedly and ridiculously UNsmart. And I know it’s so first-world to just go buy an iPhone but it was a gift from him to me so I could keep up with Truth in the Tinsel this week. He’s seen how big of a deal it has become and how much it means to me. I’ve got tears in my eyes right now because it’s such a sweet gift! So, I will be updating and taking pics of how we Disney-fy our Truth in the Tinsel adventure!
Can’t wait to hear how your first day goes!
Last week Lydia was off of school for Thanksgiving. And it was so fun to just ramble around the house and run errands and just be together. I downloaded the new #1000gifts app and it’s got me taking more pictures (altho’ sometimes I can’t actually get it up on the app!) and more aware of things (people) I’m thankful for. So, here are a few pictures from the last few days–pictures that show why my heart is so full of joy and thanksgiving!
