You'll perform the full duties of a Producer/Reporter which will include researching, reporting, writing, translating and editing or adapting stories or programme material. As well as finding contributors and interviewees, you'll also find sources of material and/or actuality whilst maintaining professional journalistic standards of accuracy, impartiality, fair dealing and adhering to the BBC’s Producers guidelines. We need you to perform at the microphone with or without a script, conduct interviews, chair discussions and act as a participant in other productions, whether live, pre-recorded or on location.
As well as being responsible for a moving story, amending and updating material as required, you'll also need to think through and around editorial problems, developing realistic alternative strategies and approaches and offer ideas for items and programmes/series. You'll actively contribute to the editorial planning process, suggesting new angles on existing stories and to put forward stories not yet covered.
