Entertainment Jane Fonda: ‘All the Rich People I Know’ Are Saying ‘Tax Us’

No stranger to controversy, longtime actress and political activist Jane Fonda told HLN’s Joy Behar that all her wealthy friends are “saying ‘tax us.’”

According to Nicholas Ballasy at the Daily Caller, the woman disparagingly referred to as “Hanoi Jane” because of a trip to North Vietnam in 1972 in which she publicly denounced American military as “war criminals,” was asked: “What do you make of the fact that when you know, when people say, ‘Gee, these very, very mega rich people should … pay their share, should be taxed also and stop getting tax breaks,’ and other people are like, ‘No, you can’t do that. It’s so wrong to tax these rich people.’”

“And oftentimes that’s right and oftentimes there are poor people that are saying that,” Fonda replied. “And the only answer that I can come up with is because, it being America, those not-so-rich people feel some day I’m going to be rich and I don’t want to be taxed.”

Ballasy continues:

“I think that we will end up taxing the rich,” Fonda added. “And that’s just fine by me and all the rich people I know, like Ted Turner and Warren Buffet and Bill Gates, you’re, they’re all saying, Tax us.” [...]

Fonda also talked politics with CNN’s Piers Morgan on December 8, saying she wishes President Barack Obama would be “stronger” in office.

“I hope he gets re-elected. I wish that he would be stronger. I think he will be in his second term. I think he’s going to be re-elected,” she said.

“I think he’s a good man, but I wish that he was tougher on the issues that I care about and that a lot of people care about.”

It seems Fonda has remained consistent in her politics, openly siding with the left for decades running now.

      These type comments irritate the crap out of me! Every time some wealthy person wants to appear magnanimous to the media about taxes. I have been a small business owner for 20 yrs and I have done my taxes every year and I have to say these comments from the rich are a load of crap. There is no law, no requirement, nor ethical requirement for a person, business, corporation, or other to take their legal deductions on taxes, whether personal, business, or otherwise. People take deductions to minimize their tax liability legally. And it ****** me off when some rich liberal snob says tax me more. Well if you want to be taxed more stop taking your legal deductions and you will pay more in taxes. Warren Buffet who has made this same comment hides behind corporations, LLC’s, trusts and every other legal tax shelter he can to pay the minimum in taxes legally required. These are manipulative comments by the rich to make the rest of us look bad. Shame on you get some character.

She took them all without missing a beat. At the end of the line and once the camera stopped rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POWs, she turned to the officer in charge and handed him all the little pieces of paper.

      Three men died from the subsequent beatings. Colonel Carrigan was almost number four but he survived, which is the only reason we know of her actions that day. I was a civilian economic development advisor in Vietnam, and was captured by the North Vietnamese communists in South Vietnam in 1968, and held prisoner for over 5 years. I spent 27 months in solitary confinement; one year in a cage in Cambodia; and one year in a “black box” in Hanoi. My North Vietnamese captors deliberately poisoned and murdered a female missionary, a nurse in a leprosarium in Ban me Thuot, South Vietnam, whom I buried in the jungle near the Cambodian border. At one time, I weighed only about 90 lbs. (My normal weight is 170 lbs.)

      OPINION: I have calculated that we could solve world hunger with an infrastructure investment of less than $100 billion. We could provide clean water for less than $50 Billion. Their own fortunes are not great enough to cover the cost, and so progressives greedily eye the fortunes of the 7 MILLION millionaires in the US and think the solution is to take $22,000 from each to cover the cost.

      Personally, I don’t believe in taking from anyone. I want to solve global problems by working together with like minded people to build wealth and create the infrastructure ourselves. Nobody should be FORCED to give up a single dollar satisfy my need to alleviate the suffering of others. Compassion, like morality cannot be legislated…It must be given freely…

      I was watching Freedom Watch with Judge Naopalitano and he interviewed this woman who interviewed the so called 1% ers saying that they should be taxed more. She had a clipboard and on that clipboard were the IRS Forms for people who want to give more money than they needed to. She offered those forms to all of them after saying they should be taxed more, and not one would take the form and fill it out. NOT ONE! All had very poor excuses to the reason why! All I have to say is lead by example not by mouth!

    Any of these rich fat cats could write a check to the treasury tomorrow. but here’s the thing: The problem with liberals is jealousy and envy, it drives them – they don’t really want to pay more, they just want OTHER PEOPLE to pay more. That’s why they want laws. Laws don’t apply to them, they cheat. Laws, to them, apply to other people. In the end, only conservatives would pay more taxes.

    She wants Obama to be stronger. in her mind, that means letting black panthers actually beat old women with their billy clubs at the polling places. That means outlawing oil companies. That means eradicating the white man in this country.

    Jane Fonda is a racist, a bigot, and a hypocrite. Not to mention the murderous blood on her hands from viet phucking nam.

    All the rich people I know want to pay more taxes, but they are so stupid and frozen with ineptness, they can’t. The Govt. Needs to make them pay, because they just don’t know how. That is how they got rich, not paying and being stupid. But then again, all the rich people I know are liberaltards and socialist. Please come to our house and make us write the checks, otherwise we will just spend it on another golden toilet.

      Jane would be nothing today, had it not been for her rich successful father. I wonder if Henry was even her real father. Henry was handsome, had class, had a likeable personality, and was a pretty good actor. Jane didn’t seem to get any of those genes.
      Henry was a Democrat though. I guess she got some of his genes.

Wishing violence and harm upon others is only going to cause violence and harm. Treat others as you would like to be treated. If I ever say I want someone to burn and die then I hope someone tells me off. Wish her peace. You may not like her, you may even hate her, but still wish her peace. I don’t want anyone to die so horribly. I don’t even want anyone to die. I don’t understand how anyone could want anyone to die. I just want peace. Are the things she says so bad to you that you really want to kill her? Or even joke about it? If, so, and if you’re in America, then you’re not in the country that best reflects you.       Although I believe that Jane Fonda is worthy of death, I do NOT advocate making her (or anyone else) suffer. As a Christian, I believe that Christ bore the pain and suffering of all humanity. To inflict pain on another person is to inflict pain on Christ.
